Missions Office Manager
Mrs. Sherrie Riggs has served as Montgomery Baptist Associational Missions Office Manager since January 1994. She has lived in Montgomery County since the age of three, growing up in the southern party of the county, in Cabin John, Maryland. She and her family were members of a nearby church, Glen Echo Baptist, of Glen Echo, MD, a long-time member church in the Montgomery Association. She is married to Thomas Riggs. They have been married for thirty four years and live in Germantown, MD. They have two daughters, Meredith 28, married to Ben Henning (they live in California) and Heather 23, recently married to Edgard Paz (they also live in Germantown.) The Riggs have lived in Germantown for the past twenty three years. Sherrie was a long-time member at Redland Baptist Church in Derwood, Maryland, but is curently a member at First Baptist Church of Damascus, Damascus, MD. Both churches are also long-time member churches of The MBA. Sherrie has been a member of FBC Damascus for five years. She serves on the Music Worship team and is also the coordinator of the Women's Ministries. In addition, she leads a women's Bible study on Wednesday evenings. Her husband Tom continues his membership at Redland and is a supporting staff member, maintaining their multi-facility campus. He has been on staff there for fifteen years. Sherrie's favorite past times are painting (especially in watercolors), gardening, jewelry making, other arts and handcrafting, and reading.
