Montgomery Baptist Association

 

I am pleased to share with everyone the news that Rev. Bill Robertson, Director, Pastoral Leadership Team, Louisiana Baptist Convention, will be coming to Upper Seneca Baptist Church for a Spring Revival.

             

As you may remember, we had planned for him to be with us last fall for the association-wide revival. However he could not, due to the impact of Hurricane Gustav on Louisiana and the necessity of his helping to coordinate relief efforts there. As it turned out, God had a different plan for us last fall. We were truly blessed, as local Montgomery Baptist preachers shared God’s Word in each service and eleven different congregations participated. It was the first time, in my twenty-nine years as a pastor in our association, that I could ever recall our coming together like that, just to worship God and to hear from Him. When the services concluded, everyone said, “We must do this again!” Some suggested that it be on a regular basis.

             

I am thankful to Bill Robertson for his willingness to work with us and to arrange his schedule to be the guest preacher for this special event. Working with Dr. Ron Blankenship and our MBA Coordinating Council, the desire is to see this be a time of spiritual renewal for our association and even beyond. In addition to having as many congregations as possible to participate, I would like to have various musicians and worship teams from the churches to lead the worship and praise time and to provide other music for each service. In the near future, more information will be distributed. Please do not hesitate to contact me either for information or for ways you might help. I ask you to pray for this special time and to spread the word about it.

             

It will have been at about that exact same time, one year ago, when God was moving so powerfully in Jena, Louisiana. My prayer is that He will work powerfully in our lives, as we come humbly before Him.
